Princess Cate is 3

We had lots of fun celebrating Cate's birthday with our families at Thanksgiving. Everytime we sang the birthday song she would correct us and say her name was "Belle." Carter gave her this Belle dress as a gift.
Pretty Princess Cake! We shared cake with the neighbors (who brought Cate very sweet gifts) and Sophia. We took Cate and Sophia to see the Jolly Holiday Lights. We all piled in the car with our hot chocolate and had a fun night!

Cate's big gift from us--but not quite big enough for Carter to ride with her in her "fancy new truck!" Seems everyone in this house has gotten a new truck this year!

Fun on the farm

We enjoyed a fun day on the farm this week. We were lucky enough to have Grandma Jane come stay with us for a few days and then the kids got to go the farm for 2 days. If you can't tell, Cate had lots of fun with Papa.
My sweet little John Deere boy...nothing more beautiful than a sunny October day combining corn.

My boss, Dr. Severidt joined us for a day of farming. He enjoyed checking out the fancy combine and even drove the tractor solo!

We are very proud of Carter playing golf for Grand View University this fall. They had a home meet so we were able to watch him play some this week. His mom even felt well enough to come out and watch him card a couple of birdies.
This was a par 3 where Carter had a GREAT shot!

Charlie is 6 months old!

The 6 month report

17 lb 5 oz and 26 3/4 inches

Moving: Charlie loves to sit up and play or roll around. He loves watching his sister (or any kids) and also enjoys playing in his exersaucer. He is always jumping or moving his legs but doesn't always like to be "stuck" in the Johnny Jump Up.

Talking: We love our "Chuckles!" He is easy to make laugh and very ticklish under his chin and his inner thighs. He is quite chatty and has started to say "da, da, da, da." He often has a lengthy oratory or song to put himself to sleep.

Eating: No teeth yet. Lots of drool. Charlie is really not into baby food but loves eating rolls and Ritz crackers.

Sleeping: Charlie is sleeping well, going to bed between 7:30 and 8 and waking up to snuggle with his dad for a bit until his Mom gets back from her run and through the shower around 6 am. He LOVES to snuggle with a blanket and sleeps on his belly.

Nicknames: "Chip" Take your pick--Carter and Matt like this because of golf. Cate likes this because she currently LOVES Beauty and the Beast and the little cup that turns into a little boy is named Chip.

Big Man on Campus

Well, once you get to college you don't have to pose for the annual first day of school picture. Today was Carter's first day of college at Grand View University. Here are his two biggest fans sporting Grand View Viking tattoos. We are very proud of Carter and really excited for him as he starts this next chapter in his life.

Charlie's baptism

We had a fabulous celebration today as Charlie was baptized at Lutheran Church of Hope. Thanks to those of you who were able to join us and make the day so special. It really meant a lot to us to share God's love through our little man. He did great! Smiles all day long! Charles Mitchell Trewet
