Many firsts

Cate has had many firsts in the last week:

First graduation parties (Miles and Anna) full of lots of admiring by her great aunts and uncles and all her cousins
First baseball game--a beautiful night at the watching the Iowa Cubs play
First wedding (Congrats to Kate and Bob) where she barely let out a peep

First 9 holes of golf--Matt attached the car seat to the golf cart. She was asleep by the end of the 1st hole and slept the entire time! She wore her first baseball cap and Nike jacket from Rachel and Sophia.
First Memorial Day picnic with TJ and Emily (and Uncle Mark and Aunt Jodi)

AND...drumroll...HER FIRST TOOTH! Carter's comment was "I don't know what the big deal is, I have lots of teeth and nobody is excited for me!"

Playing outside and bathtime

Cate likes bathtime now. She seems to think it is like the spa--she just sits back and relaxes and Daddy gives her a bath. Much better than the battles we had when she was little!

We are just THRILLED that it is nice outside now. You can see that even at 5 months, Cate is thinking about walking. She loves being outside especially to look at all the spring colors. We are excited for summer.

My new friends

We LOVE Lucy. Lucy's mom, Katie, and I were sorority sisters at Drake. Katie and I were pregnant together and she was really hoping for a girl because she cheated and knew she was having a girl. Lucy and Cate made their first appearance at the Farmer's Market last weekend. You can tell in this picture how much Cate loves toes right now, she even found Lucy's!

This is Cate's friend Catherine Kraus. Catherine's mom, Heidi, and I were sorority sisters at Drake. Catherine was born 2 weeks before Cate. Looks like they are already telling secrets.
