Happy Birthday to Cate!

It is hard to believe Cate is 1 year old. We celebrated in style with 3 birthday parties--one with the Beckers, next with the Trewets and finally with family and friends at our house over the weekend. Cate's friends Lucy and Sophia plus all of her cousins helped her celebrate her big day in style.

With all these parties, it is a good thing CATE LOVES CAKE!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at home with our families. One of the highlights was celebrating Cate's birthday with our families (pictures of cake eating will come to you soon). Above is Carter in the car he wishes was his with his favorite little pal.

A town gang together

The A-town girls got together this week with their kiddos for a little bit.

Lucy is 4 months younger than Cate. It is really fun for us because they are starting to be able to play together a bit. Lucy's mom and dad are really fun to hang out with...we had a fun night of pizza and hanging out with our baby girls.

I have been traveling lots in the last month so Cate has gotten some great Daddy time.

He had 3 birdies which he was very excited about.

Standing and starting golf

Carter has started his golf season. Stay tuned for updates of his success. He had a really good caddy (his Dad!) in a tournament at Briarwood over the weekend where he placed 3rd in his flight.

Cate is crawling faster and faster (not as much on her belly now) and even standing. We actually had to get out the long sleeves over the weekend. Is summer really over?

We enjoyed the Becker siblings getting together while Jacqui and Eric were back in Iowa.

Cate enjoyed a day at the county fair and the state fair this month.

Congrats on 50 years!

Congrats to Dr. and Mrs. Trewet!!!

We so enjoyed ourselves this weekend as we celebrated 50 years of marriage between Carrol and Betty Trewet! 50 years and it is so very clear to all of us how very much they love each other. It was quite the special night--just like their marriage. The ENTIRE family was there (even Bernie and Kristi!) and some of Betty and Carrol's wedding party. As you can see from the pictures...fun was had by all!

This weekend we are dogsitting "Penny" for our friends Katie and Andy. Penny is a bulldog--quite possibly the best dog ever if you ask Matt and Carter. The first picture is Cate laughing at Penny and then Carter playing with Penny.

Cate also got to try sweet corn tonight--those teeth really come in handy! All in all a fun weekend at home--we have been traveling so much lately it was nice to finally be home!

Trewet Trip to the Ozarks

Cate enjoyed her first annual trip to the Ozarks a couple weeks ago. We really enjoyed our trip this year even though we were missing a few of our favorites in the Trewet clan. Cate really loved being in the pool and bobbing in the lake. Carter was a wakeboarding fool and Cate even got to see her dad on waterskis! A few more highlights included eating powered sugar donuts with Papa and laughing hysterically with the twins playing with a whoopie cushion.

The week went entirely too fast...we wish we could stay all summer!

Becker Family Reunion

We really enjoyed our time with the Becker Family for a long weekend in June

Papa B had all 3 of his brothers, his dad and his son riding on old tractors. All 4 Becker kids and 5 grandkids were in the parade with lots of other Beckers we picked up along the way--4 Generations Strong--THE CORN IS GROWING AND SO ARE THE BECKERS!

We enjoyed a weekend with the Becker Family last weekend (pictures coming soon) and will head to the Ozarks with the Trewets tomorrow for our annual weeklong trip.

We are behind!

Hello from the Trewet house--
I am getting behind on blog posts and I don't have time to post pictures tonight, but I will give you a short update to what we have been up to these summer days.
Carter is working at Otter Creek Golf Course and although he thought, at the beginning, that having a job was quite possibly the worst thing in the world...the tips have helped and his job isn't quite so bad. He is a bag boy and is finding that there are worse summer jobs. He even took his girlfriend out to eat (on his own dime) last week followed by a trip to Saylorville to watch the sunset (everyone now--oooooooooohhh!)
Cate is getting more fun by the minute--she is crawling now! We will try to post a video sometime as proof. She is also learning about pitch in her voice, that girl can scream when she wants! She is finally getting over a NASTY cold that both her parents also got from her last week.
We just got home from a FABULOUS long weekend with the Becker family. Cate was in her first parade and enjoyed her first fishing trip. It was a VERY special time with family that we will treasure. No worries--Cate can definitely hold her own in that houseful of boys. We have proof in the pictures of her pulling little Spencer's hair out.

GOING TO THE POOL!

We took Cate to the pool today--it was her second trip. SHE LOVES IT! Here are pictures from 2 weeks ago--her first trip to the pool. Briarwood has a very fun pool with a baby pool...some how I see us spending lots of time there over the next several years.
